  • NU-AGE (New dietary strategies addressing the specific needs of the elderly population for healthy ageing in Europe) is a five year project coordinated by Professor Claudio Franceschi from the University of Bologna, Italy. Aiming to address the problems caused by chronic low-grade inflammation (inflammaging) associated with old age, the project will test whether the Mediterranean diet can reduce the effects of inflammaging and promote health in the elderly population.

The project has now been running for over three years and its third annual coordination meeting was recently held in Spetses Island, Greece. This was attended by Professor Francesco Capozzi, who presented the CHANCE project.
